Shelby, born and raised in Alaska, started singing at the age of 9 in a quartet with her three sisters. She started playing guitar when she was 13 and has traveled across Alaska with The Good Kind, Upside Down worship team, and has partnered with local churches for various conferences.

In addition to coaching vocalists, Shelby loves working with songwriters to craft their gift and songwriting style. Shelby started writing and performing regularly with her twin sister, Sydney, when she was 16. Sydney & Shelby have recorded two albums featuring all original songs (It’s Time and Circles EP).  Shelby brings 15 years of musical experience to the Destiny Voice & Music Studio team, and her teaching methods are practical, creative and encouraging.

Shelby is passionate about seeing this next generation live up to their potential. The past couple of Summers, Shelby led a music program at a Summer camp for at-risk children and teens. Shelby currently leads worship at Creekwood Students, the youth ministry at Creekwood Church, Mansfield.

Outside of teaching music, Shelby loves to tell jokes, drink coffee, and watch Parks and Recreation.
